Teachers & Writers Collaborative (T&W) seeks to educate the imagination by offering innovative creative writing programs for students and teachers, and by providing a variety of publications and resources to support learning through the literary arts.
WRITING WORKSHOPS: T&W sends professional writers into schools and community sites to teach imaginative writing and conducts professional development workshops for teachers and administrators.
PUBLICATIONS: T&W has published more than 80 books; publishes Teachers & Writers Magazine, an award-winning quarterly on teaching writing; and sponsors the annual Bechtel Prize to honor an exemplary article about writing or teaching.
CENTER FOR IMAGINATIVE WRITING: A meeting place for teachers, students, writers, and the general public, the Center is located in T&W’s offices at 520 Eighth Avenue (between 36th and 37th Streets), 20th floor, in New York City, and is open between 9 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and on evenings and weekends for specially scheduled events.
