David Andrew Stoler
After receiving his creative writing BA from Brown University in 1996, David became an award-winning and nationally-published journalist; his nonfiction has appeared across the country in alternative weeklies likeBoston Phoenix and was syndicated online by Alternet. In 2000, David was named New York Times Fellow in fiction at New York University’s creative writing program where, in 2002, he received his MFA. David currently teaches writing to children and young adults through Teachers & Writers Collaborative, and to undergraduates at Berkeley College in New York City. In 2009, his script, Where We Are From, about teaching poetry to urban students, was a finalist in the Final Draft Big Break screenwriting competition, one of the biggest contests in the country. David’s film, Dadi, is currently in production with Longstocking Productions and Disha Theatre.
