Subject Matter
Teachers & Writers magazine welcomes articles about teaching the art of writing in kindergarten through college and in non-classroom settings. Teachers & Writers also welcomes submissions on related topics, such as oral history, translation, and teaching writing in combination with other arts. Articles should present innovative techniques and ideas or shine a new light on familiar subject matter. Teachers & Writers publishes both practical and theoretical work and looks for writing that is concise, lively, and geared toward a general audience.
Length
Articles typically range from 2 to 10 typewritten, double-spaced pages (500 to 2,500 words). There is no limit on the length of articles submitted to Teachers & Writers; however, long articles may be significantly edited to fit available space in the magazine.
Audience
Most readers of Teachers & Writers teach writing at the elementary, secondary, or postsecondary level.
