Biography
Nicole Hefner was born in Hickory, North Carolina, but spent her early years moving from town to town throughout the south. She is a writer of poems, stories, and essays.

In 1995, Hefner received a BA summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma with additional study at Oxford University, St. Edmond’s College. She went on to earn two MFAs from New York University: one in poetry and one in fiction. She now serves as a language lecturer in the Expository Writing Program at NYU.

Dedicated not only to the art of writing but also to the art of teaching writing, Ms. Hefner has worked in schools and hospitals throughout New York City. She is driven by the belief that ultimately we all want to be better understood—-by ourselves and by each other—-and that this understanding is facilitated through writing.

Hefner lives with her husband in their home in Brooklyn. She can be found at her blog www.nicolehefner.blogspot.com or reached at mnh777@hotmail.com.
