David Andrew Stoler

David Andrew Stoler is an award-winning journalist and fiction writer whose work has appeared in alternative weeklies across the country. He was named New York Times Fellow in fiction at New York University in 2000, and received his MFA there in 2002. Currently he teaches creative writing to at-risk and special needs kids in New York City public schools through the Teachers & Writers Collaborative and the Weeksville Heritage Center, and to young cancer survivors through the NYLifeLab. Writers working with T&W are experienced, dynamic teachers committed to inspiring the love of language and writing in their students. T&W writers have published their work in books and in national magazines such as the New Yorker, Essence, and the New York Review of Books, and they have won many awards. They offer students a glimpse into the life of a writer, and inspire the students to create their own literary art.
