Shea Dean

Shea Dean received her undergraduate degree in English Literature from Brown University and her masters in fiction writing from Boston University. She has held residencies at the Yaddo and Ragdale art colonies and has published essays and criticism in the Believer, the Boston Globe, the Chicago Tribune, the Holland Herald, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, and other publications. In addition to working with the Teachers & Writers Collaborative, she teaches at the American Language Institute at New York University and The High Five Tickets for the Arts Teen Reviewers and Critics program. Shea is at work on a screenplay.

Writers working with T&W are experienced, dynamic teachers committed to inspiring the love of language and writing in their students. T&W writers have published their work in books and in national magazines such as the New Yorker, Essence, and the New York Review of Books, and they have won many awards. They offer students a glimpse into the life of a writer, and inspire the students to create their own literary art.
