Jane LeCroy

Jane LeCroy has been performing original poetry and songs since 1992. Based in New York City, she travels the country, performing her poetry, songs and stories. She has performed as part of the Life Ensemble with such jazz greats as Andy Bempky, Arnie Lawrence, Reggie Workman and Steve Neil. Jane graduated from Eugene Lang College of The New School University, after studying with poets and educators such as Sekou Sundiata, Kurtis Lamkin, Christian McEwen, Jane Lazarre, Mark Statman, Greg Tewksbury and Nancy Barnes. In addition to teaching through Teachers & Writers Collaborative, Jane LeCroy has also taught writing at Eugene Lang College, ran Susan Straub’s Read To Me Program, and also has taught writing and literature to home-school groups.

Jane performs regularly in New York City and tours the United States performing at colleges, bookstores, libraries, and other venues. She has held performance residencies in NYC at, The Internet Cafe, Pianos and The Bowery Poetry Club and in NJ at Liberty Science Center. She has performed at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, Ohiofest, Chicagofest, CMJ, Fringe Festival, New York JUMP! festivals, Michigan’s Womyn’s Music Festival and has toured as part of the west coast women poets of SISTER SPIT. Jane was part of the electronica project Somnaut with David Last and the rock band Spook Engine and with the emo-core band Vitapup. Currently, Jane LeCroy fronts the band TRANSMITTING, featuring multi-instrumentalist Tom Abbs and Beat-boxer Kid Lucky.
