Catherine BarnettBiography Catherine Barnett grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, graduated from Princeton University, and earned her MFA from Warren Wilson College. Her collection of poems, Into Perfect Spheres Such Holes Are Pierced, won the 2003 Beatrice Hawley Award and was published in 2004 by Alice James Books. She’s won a Pushcart Prize, the Glasgow Prize for Emerging Writers, an Outstanding Service award for her teaching at New York University, and a Whiting Writers’ Award. Her poems have appeared in the Massachusetts Review, the Iowa Review, Pleiades, Barrow Street, the Hat, and the Washington Post; her essays and interviews have been widely published. As poet-in-residence at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, she teaches writing to young mothers in New York City’s shelter system. |
