Corie FeinerCorie Feiner (formerly Herman) is a poet, performer, and educator who bridges the gap between spoken word/performance poetry and academic writing. She earned a MFA from New York University’s Graduate Creative Writing Program, where she studied with poets Sharon Olds, Phil Levine, and Agha Shahid Ali. Feiner has been a finalist for several awards, including the Randall Jarrell Prize, and publishes her work in a number of literary magazines, including Caylx, Kalliope, and Phoebe. Her first collection of poetry was Radishes Into Roses (Linear Arts Press). She has read, performed, and slammed at a number of venues, and has shared the stage with poets such as, Suheir Hammad, Saul Williams, Sarah Jones, Regie Cabico, Mayda deValle, StaceyAnn Chin, and Roger Bonair-Agard. The winner of the 2007 “Vent Your Inspirations” Poetry Contest, Feiner publishes her work regularly in journals, anthologies, and literary magazines. She performs her work internationally and has been featured in New York Times, Backstage, and Metro News and on NY1. She is the poetry editor of the Bellevue Literary Review.
