Sarah is the author of Lost Voices, a young adult fantasy novel published in July 2011 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt; two additional volumes in The Lost Voices Trilogy will also be published by HMH. Her stories, essays, and poems have appeared in publications including Open City, Sonaweb, Teachers & Writers Magazine, ONE Magazine, and the New Review of Literature. Her essay “The Pen Has Become the Character: How Creative Writing Creates Us” was awarded the 2006 Bechtel Prize from Teachers & Writers Collaborative. In 2007 she completed her MFA in creative writing at City College. For the last eight years, Sarah has taught creative writing in the New York public schools. She also VJs with the media collectives Fort/Da and Image Node.
