Susan Buttenwieser’s fiction has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and appeared in Failbetter, Epiphany, Boundoff, and other publications. She teaches creative writing in New York City public schools as well as with organizations that provide services to underserved communities, including Community Word Project, Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, Rikers Island, Metropolitan Community Church Homeless Youth Services, and the youth program at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center. She has also been awarded several fiction fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
